The Follen Angels

Performing Jazz, Cabaret, Oldies Pop

The Follen Angels are uniquely versatile performers and recording artists. Their repertoire is vast, from their current homage to classical rock music from the ‘60’s and ‘70’s to the American Songbook and International Cabaret of the 1920’s, performed in French and German.

The Follen Angels have filled concert halls and radio airwaves, and continue to draw enthusiastic audiences from Scullers Jazz Club and Ryles Jazz Club in the Boston area, to Mechanics Hall in Worcester, the Metropolitan Room and Don’t Tell Mama in New York City, and Columbia Station in Washington DC. The Follen Angels recently completed their East Coast tour with sold out shows. Hildy Grossman, lead vocalist, has a special touch of telling engaging stories and anecdotes that places the music into the context of the era. Ken Dantzig, drummer and former DJ, adds humor and patter to further involve audiences in the fun.

The Boston Globe acclaims the Follen Angels music as,” heavenly sounds”.

New York Producer Andy Skurow writes of their recent New York performance, “The Follen Angels provide fresh arrangements to familiar classics…Their repertoire sounds unique and fresh…never sounded so good with a twist of funk. This was the MOST FUN I’ve had in the cabaret in a long time. The Follen Angels are a Must See!”

Marblehead Reporter, Stacey Marcus, wrote: “I was instantly smitten with the Follen Angels and their unique presentation of music. The group has the robust talent of a big band coupled with the intimate charm and allure of a glamorous piano bar entertainer from a sequined era. All in all, it was a toe tapping good time that made me want to don an evening gown, color my lips ruby red and sip a bubbly glass of champagne.”
